Information We Collect

GardenCalc does not collect personal information. All calculations are performed locally in your browser — your soil dimensions, plant counts, and fertilizer rates never leave your device and are never transmitted to our servers. We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views and session duration, which help us understand which tools are most useful and how to improve the site.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP anonymization enabled. GA4 collects aggregate data about site usage — which pages are visited, how long users stay, and which features are used most. This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify individual visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

GardenCalc does not set first-party cookies. We use cookies through Google Analytics (to track sessions and page views) and Google AdSense (to deliver and measure advertisements). These are standard third-party cookies. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings at any time without affecting the core functionality of our calculators.

Third-Party Services

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. We also link to external horticultural resources for reference; we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

GardenCalc is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information via our contact form, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.

Data Retention

Because GardenCalc does not collect personal data, there is no personal data to retain. Anonymized analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard data retention settings. Contact form messages, if submitted, are retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry.
